Sorry I noticed a typo after I posted. It is "Mutiny on the Bounty" not "Mounty on the Bounty" :)

Astoria often gets, what they call "tall ships" to the port. It is exciting to see the old world ships right next the modern coast guard ships and HUGE barges that are passing by.

Oregon

My time in Oregon has been interesting and part of the time it has been spent in Washington. I arrived in Oregon in June and spent most of that time helping my family with remodeling their house. I did some side jobs to earn money, but mostly spent time with my family. On July 22nd I drove to Washington State to house sit for some friends that I knew when I was living in Arkansas. They are on a 3 week cruise to Norway and I am taking care of their house.

I told my mother that this July has been the coolest July I have ever had. Most days were in the 70's. The Oregon Coast is a beautiful place, but chilly. I have enjoyed daily walks on the river walk with my mother and brother, and at least once a week with my dad and sister. It is fun watching the sail boats and HUGE barges go up the river. One day the Bounty was docked with the Coast Guard. The one that was built for Mounty on the Bounty.

The wild life is amazing. I have seen elk, deer, bald eagles and all kinds of birds. It is beautiful here.

Food: my favorite place to get fish and chips is at the Bow Picker. It is just across the street from the Maritime Museum. Oh, the fish is heavenly! Buoy Nine is my other favorite for a good meal, but if I want clam chowder is is Moe's all the way!
